I’m a horrible blogger

October 3, 2008

Sorry to all who have been waiting for me to update them on anything.

I’ve been ridiculously busy since the beginning of summer with school. I took 15 hours over the summer, and I’m taking 21 hours now. There is good news though: I graduate in December.

We went to see Matt down at Ft. Benning last weekend. Here’s a picture of him and Rylee (ignore the nose picking):

Bit

July 15, 2008

*Picture to Come Soon*

This morning we had to put Bit to sleep.  I can honestly say it is something I never expected to be around to participate in.

Last night he lay down and didn’t eat.  It was the same this morning except he wouldn’t/couldn’t get up this morning.  I sat out with him on and off for about two hours before Dr. Cannon could get here a little before 7 this morning.  He confirmed that Bit was having heart problems and that he was dying.

I’m currently waiting for the people to help me come bury him.

It’s been a very long and trying morning for me.  There are probably many who were unaware of the fact that a horse even existed among my possessions.  But possession, or even pet does not quite explain how Bit fit into my life.

At six months older than me he was simply always there.

In 26 years he never threw me, but I did fall off on occasion.

The first time I fell off I was two.

He was the one horse on trail rides that any child could ride and all the adults envied.

I always enforced control when riding, but there were hundreds of times when I swear he used that six month age difference against me.

There was nothing like falling off his back from my own stupidity to have him stop and snicker at me.  Seriously, he had no problems laughing although a horse.

So, it’s been a while

June 1, 2008

Sorry everyone.  It’s been mega hectic around here, and I’m not exactly sure why.

I just finished up my spring semester and am already overloaded on my summer classes; I’m taking six, which might not be such a great idea now that I’m involved with them.  Nothing like trying to cram in all your senior classes at once.  My old computer also crashed a couple weeks ago so, we were without a home computer for a little bit.  On a healthy note: I started CrossFit in February/March- ish time frame and have lost 20+ lbs in fat.  I’ve dropped two sizes and my increased muscle is definitely helping lose weight quicker and get in better shape.  If I could manage to stop snacking on the potato chips, I’m most certain I could progress even quicker.  I’d like to be really close to pre-pregnancy me by the end of the year.  Oh, and I can deadlift 255lbs.  I find that amusing.

Tom is doing well, but they’ve just started up classes again and his schedule is crazier than ever. We will be truly lucky if we get to spend anytime together over the next few months.

Rylee is getting so freakin’ big.  I’ll try to get some pictures up as soon as I can get us to a point where cameras should be involved.  She’s speaking with perfection and shocking us with her keen perception on life.  She does currently have a small goose egg on the side of her head where she fell yesterday.  She was trying to balance on one leg, on top of a plastic cup and I didn’t catch it in time.  I didn’t catch the knot on her head at first either because she only complained about her foot where the cup broke and scraped it.  She’s very hard headed.  Oh, and she can speak Spanish well enough to carry on a conversation at the park with an elderly Spanish lady.

Outdoor Fun

May 4, 2008

With Tom having to not work so hard the past few weeks we’ve been trying to keep ourselves busy with fun, free things to do…which means enjoying the outdoors in the Georgia Mountains.

Three Years Old! WOW!

April 23, 2008

Yep. Rylee’s been 3 years old for a week now. We celebrated her birthday down at Ft. Benning during the week of Best Ranger. Tom had to go down and work so we all went down with him so he didn’t have to miss it.

We got a small cake from the commissary, which she promptly got into.

And she had a blast the entire week. We had a lot of fun, well, Tom did have to work so Rylee and I had a lot of fun.

Three years old....

I think Tom enjoyed having us down there though.
