Where to begin….

July 24, 2007

I wanted to do the post of Rylee and Violet seperate, but so much has been happening. Rylee is having a blast and is still full of energy. You would think after some 2200 miles in a car she wouldn’t even want to look at the thing, but she is always ready to go ahead and see what lies ahead, and who she’ll get to meet next. At the same time when she is tired, she always says….Daddyyyyy, go home. The monkey misses him terribly, as do I. I haven’t had much internet access since being in BCS but I finally tapped into some today. Here’s the catchup:

Mammy and Mike set up a pool that we’ve been enjoying

and she’s been loving the time in it with Mammy.

We went by and saw Uncle Bryan at work,

and then I went and saw Transformers with him later. (For those who haven’t seen the movie, our past time is done justice)

We went with Kenna to the Museum of Natural History

which was totally fun and every one loved the dinosaurs.

We also have got to spend some time with Papaw and Rosebud (aka bud) while we’ve been here. What is a trip to Bryan without getting licked in the face?

Trying not to leave anything out…We also had a wonderful meal at Cheddar’s with Kenna, Deborah, and Tiffany.

1…2…3…GO (jump off a headstone)

Yes. A headstone.

Rylee, Kenna, and I met up with

halfway between Bryan and Austin…a small town called Giddings. The plan was to meet up for lunch at McDonalds

and then continue to a park to play. Well, the park which was carefully mapped out by Cheris , but didn’t seem to exist anywhere. In our driving around we passed the local cemetery that looked like it had plenty of running around room which I pointed out to Kenna in the car. When Cheris gave up and asked if I saw anything I shrugged and said, “Cemetery?” To which she laughed and said, “That’s what we’re thinking too.”

That’s where we Rylee and Violet played their little hearts out and became instant best buds.

A fun video of them also!

Let me tell you about the fun I’m having

July 15, 2007

While Rylee and Regina are having fun in Texas, I’m stuck down here in Fort Benning.  I have to attend the Maneuver-Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course due to my recent promotion.  Right now the rest of my fellow Ranger Instructors up in Dahlonega are enjoying three weeks of leave.  For the past week I have been stuck in a classroom for most of the time.  The only time we got out of the classroom was last Tuesday, and we went out and played on tanks for the morning, but by the afternoon we were back in the classroom.

I still have about six weeks left before I get to see Regina and my monkey (Rylee) again.  I hope all of you enjoy the time you will get to spend with the two of them.

We’re in Texas!!

July 10, 2007

After a ton of driving and stopping every 20 minutes from Atlanta to West Monroe we called it a night around 12:30 am Sunday morning.

don't know 027

That put us at 13 hours. We awoke the next morning to finally arrive in Texas. The rain was on and off throughout the majority of the trip (mostly on), but traffic was doing great. I guess with all the flooding people decided to actually slow down for blinding rain.

Sunday and Monday we pretty much just chilled, but Rylee was very excited to see Pappy.

Today, Aunt Sarah, along with Grandma and Grandpa Reed came for a quick visit.

It was nice to see everyone. We’re going to stay here for a bit longer, but we’ll eventually head out to see everyone else soon.

Heading to Texas

July 6, 2007

Tomorrow is the day that I have been looking forward to and miserably dreading.  My car is not only packed full of stuff for two months of Rylee’s entertainment, but possibly a few weeks of hotel living once we get back to Georgia.  We’re not exactly sure yet when our housing will be available.

The car is loaded, Rylee should have plenty of entertainment for the trip.  The computer is ready to go, all of the ‘babies’ are in the back seat, the big girl car seat has been switched back to the more comfortable version that is slightly harder to manipulate out of (and is also positioned better for dozing).  The only thing left is the bathroom stuff (for my morning shower tomorrow), Pillows, my shoes (Just remembered those *running to put them in the car*), and the cooler (Tom will bring that to me with Rylee after my test).  I think we’re set.  Hopefully.

Getting ready for bed now.  LONG day tomorrow.  Tom says it’s a lucky day, but the forecast says it will rain the whole way.  We’ll see!

Pan’s Labrynth

July 3, 2007

It’s not very often that I just get to sit down and watch a movie, especially one that requires reading.  Tonight I had the pleasure of doing so with a wonderful film.  I know for many I’m a bit late in watching it, but at least I got to!  It was spectacular.  I recommend everyone see it.  I’m too tired to really comment like I would love to about it.  Maybe more later.

The fly by of three years….

July 2, 2007

Yes. Despite everything, they have flown by. There have definantly been some challenges along the way, but when Tom told me ‘happy birthday’ today I realized how good they’ve been. I truly feel blessed to be married to such an amazing person.

We didn’t do anything that could be called ‘exciting’ really. Rylee and I spent the morning working out and then playing tag at the park. We then played in the mud (aka swinging) and washed our shoes in puddles of water. Tom came home just as we were making Rylee a new ‘nite nite book’ just in time to see Rylee mark all over herself with “washable” markers (they forget to mention that this does not apply to the black marker as it takes a week to get off with regular soap and water) We went to the store to buy food for Tom to make everyone at work tomorrow, came home and baked potatoes and ate a nice bloody steak (Rylee just had a cheese potato), watched Deja Vu (I recommend), put Rylee to bed following her new nite nite book and some Spongebob Squarepants, and relaxed.

Ahhhh.
